Kaela appears to be a pretty calm person. She barely raises the voice even when she becomes angry. Kaela is known for her particular laugh, as she always laughs silently. She likes flirting a little with her chat as well and other VTubers like Vestia Zeta. Kaela also likes to tease other people. Despite admiring Ouro Kronii more than anyone else within hololive, Kaela likes to compete with her at any opportunity. On the other hand, when people send back her compliments and kindness by telling her she is cute, Kaela stalls in a deny.

Kaela is an obsessional video game player. Among all hololive members, she stands on top for the longest average stream time. Frequently, she extends her gaming streams in order to do her favorite activity, which she calls "grinding". Most of her colleagues have learned after some time to acknowledge Kaela as a frightening worker when it comes to farming and getting experience on certain video games, which led to them regularly calling her as an impromptu gaming collab partner, even if it is just for emotional support. Despite these numerous requests, Kaela is always patient and happy to help, with patience being one of her strongest qualities. Following Moona's lessons on Minecraft, Kaela's dedication and experience earned her a strong reputation in all hololive. Thus, many Japanese members started calling her a god.

She exhibits many personalities, with one of the most popular being a little sister personality called "Ckia", taking a cute high pitched. Her next personality, Skia, sounds like an older sister and is supposed to be more skilled than Kaela, having a slightly deeper voice and a more audible laugh. Sometimes, Kaela can also adopt an old lady voice to become the one named "Grandmaela". She calls herself "Goriela" when she starts imitating gorilla noises, or even "Omela" while taking a deep male voice.

Like Anya Melfissa, Kaela is very resistant to horror situations and never appears to be frightened. Additionally, her reaction to most horror scenarios (such as jump scares) has drawn comparisons to Shishiro Botan, where they laughed at situations that would otherwise scare their colleagues. For this reason, some of her colleagues called her as emotional support during their horror game streams, the most notable example being Hakos Baelz and Ceres Fauna on their The Mortuary Assistant stream.

Kaela shows sometimes a seductive side towards other hololive members. She likes to invite them all becoming her "wives," as if she was grinding for a harem. This behavior led her being nicknamed "Elagator."

Appearance

Kaela's skin is particularly white. She has medium-length blonde hair with a red headband. Her eyes are a bright red. Her left earring is a metal ingot. Originally, her main piece of cloth was a long dress with a black back and a white front face and a fat grey neckband. The dress slightly exposed her armpits under transparent surfaces, and her right left through an opening. Over the dress, she wore a long black jacket with a fluffy hood, falling on her arms. Her left glove is full red and ample, while right one is black with red fingers. She also wore thighs and black high heels with red sole. Around her waist, she had a red belt holding her small hammer and three different metal ingots.

Background

Auditions for hololive Indonesia's third generation were held from 25 August to 20 September 2021.

On 24 March, hololive Indonesia's YouTube channel revealed its third generation with a small introductory video. On this date, Kaela also made her first tweet, and a small teaser video was uploaded to her YouTube channel. Her YouTube channel was created on 27 January 2022.

Kaela debuted on 26 March 2022 at 10PM (JST). She had already reached 100,000 subscribers by the previous day. Her stream saw a peak viewer count of 37,870.

  • Her fanbase is officially called "Pemaloe," an for the Indonesian word pemalu, which can either mean "hammer wielder" or "shy person."

  • Kaela Kovalskia is the youngest and most successful apprentice of a renowned blacksmith. However, even after achieving success, she felt unfulfilled and left to visit the city in search of a rare material. Her search led her to to the hololive headquarters, where she was hired as a member.
  • Kaela explained much later after her debut her whole lore is strongly inspired by her real life experience until she joined hololive. The key behind her lore, the rare material she was running after, is in fact "happiness" itself.

  • After reciting a poem on her 3D debut, Kaela revealed she developed her writing skills in a phase where she tried to live from her own books, back when she was still student. She went far enough to participate in a national competition, and obtained a cup for the second rank.
  • M-chan (her manager) said Kaela she is one of the most fit hololive members if not the fittest, as Kaela demonstrated her sport abilities to prepare her 3D showcase.
  • Kaela almost debuted as an independent VTuber before joining hololive, but she canceled it after receiving the acceptance email from hololive. At that time, she had prepared everything necessary for her debut, such as her debut date, model, lore, emotes, etc. About two or three months before the debut date, she saw the audition for hololive Indonesia 3rd generation, and decided to give herself a chance. 2022

On 2 April, during the channel monetization celebration, Kaela enabled her channel superchat feature.

On 3 April, Kaela reached 200,000 subscribers on YouTube.

On 9 June, Kaela opened her channel's membership feature.

On 22 June, Kaela reached 300,000 subscribers on YouTube.

On 3 August, Kaela reached 400,000 subscribers on YouTube.

On 18 August, she had her first collaboration cover song with fellow hololive ID members, (from 1st to 3rd gen) of the song "Bebas" by Iwa K.

On 3 February, Kaela debuted her second 2D costume, a kimono to celebrate the new year. Kaela has two hairstyles using either short hair or really long twintails. She wears a short black kimono with red elements. The sleeves are detached and are long with hammer figures on the sides. Kaela uses a big white ribbon instead of an. Kaela uses black and red short gloves and carries a black flute with a small hammer motif. She wears black heels decorated with red roses. Kaela has the option to wear an additional white see through layer and a gorilla mask.

On 6 April, Kaela's YouTube channel reached 600,000 subscribers, at a time it was exactly counting 600 videos in total.

On 9 June, which she calls "Pemaloe Day," Kaela showed a new 2D model for incarnating her childish personality Ckia.

On 6 August, hololive Indonesia's Twitter announced that their 3rd generation would get their third costumes.

On 15 August, Kaela debuted her third 2D costume. Kaela uses long wavy hair with a ponytail to the left. Kaela wears a beige striped shirt complemented with a red tie; she also uses a necklace with a red fire opal that shines. She has a dark brown corset with golden elements and a belt in the same colors where Kaela carries two pickaxes. She has bracelets that are from the city Papua. She has a black and red skirt with a pattern. Kaela uses black shoes. Kaela can also wear a big cape in the same colors as her skirt and a golden brooch on the left side. She can also wear glasses. Kaela can cross her arms and put her hand on her chin in a thinking pose.

On 27 August, as part of the "hololive Summer 2023" event, during "hololive Summer 2023 Splash Party!" DAY 1 Sunshine stream on hololive's YouTube channel, Kaela was shown in a 3D render for the first time using the 2023 version of the swimsuits, alongside her gen mates. In the concert however they appeared using their standard 2D models.

On 7 September, hololive Indonesia's Twitter account announced that Kaela, Kobo, and Zeta would be debuting their 3D models in October 2023.

On 20 October, Kaela debuted her 3D model on her YouTube channel and also released her first original song "Backseat," with lyrics written by herself.

On 28 October, Kaela along with Zeta and Kobo debuted their 3D yukatas and 3D swimsuits used in hololive summer 2023 festival during a stream on hololive Indonesia YouTube channel.

On 29 December, she reached 700,000 subscribers on her YouTube channel.

On 31 December, Kaela, Zeta, and Kobo officially debuted their 3D idol costumes during a countdown stream on hololive YouTube channel. The costume has the same design as other hololive Indonesian members in hololive 4th fes. Our Bright Parade.

2024

On 26 March, during her second anniversary, Kaela debuted new accessories for her third 2D costume, including a Zeta-like salute pose, a gamepad, and a white sweater.

On 17 August, hololive Indonesia members debuted their 3D school uniforms and released their new branch's original song "Senandung Jiwa." The costume has two versions: one is a white T-shirt with a striped tie, and the other is a brown T-shirt decorated with traditional Indonesian motifs and a gray tie like the skirt color. Each member has accessories, including a distinct colored Varsity jacket and a school bag.

On 27 August, Kaela reached 777,000 YouTube subscribers, which was one of her debut stream goals.

On 19 November, she reached 800,000 subscribers on her YouTube channel during a stream of HoloCure.

On 30 November, holo Indie's Twitter account announced that Kaela would become its ambassador.

2025

On 8 March, she debuted her hololive 6th fes. Color Rise Harmony 3D idol costume during the event's day 1 STAGE 1. The costume has some variants, it can be black or white, complemented with a color representative of the talent. The midriff can be covered or not. One has variant has a skirt while the other uses pants, with one leg exposed. Aside for the design featured in promotional material, the costume also includes a short jacket.

On 19 March, Kaela announced that she would get a new 2D model and main design.

On 26 March, Kaela debuted her new main 2D model, branded as a redebut. Kaela retains her original hairstyle and red headband, but has new googles. She has a black scarf. Kaela wears a strap, red and black crop top with detached sleeves and two brown belts above and below the chest. She uses a red glove in the left hand. Kaela has a black short, with one brown belt with a golden buckle and one tool belt carring a hammer and a mallet. She uses black long boots with white straps and red belts and heels. Kaela can also wear a long, black jacket with inner red.

On 30 August, during her birthday, Kaela released her second original song "dahlah.," and officially released the game "Kaelaverse: Pemascape" that she and holoIndie collaborated with Kay Yu.

On 3 December, even during her break, Kaela debuted her fifth 2D costume (second one since her redesign) along with Ichijou Ririka as holo Indie ambassadors. She wears a white T-shirt with a black collar falling to the right. On top of it Kaela uses a red jacket with a blue inner an a golden "K" as a zipper.

  • Kovalskia is related to the Polish name Kowalski or Kowalska, meaning "blacksmith." Similar names appear in other eastern European languages, where they are among the most common surnames in their respective countries (similar to the English name Smith).
