He has short white hair and light blue eyes and a black gakuran jacket with gold accents with a grey pattern.

On 19 April 2019, VirtuaReal announced the opening of initial auditions accompanied by an image of several future Livers' silhouettes, including Kouichi's. The audition period lasted until 24 April 2019.

On 11 June 2019, VirtuaReal announced their second generation of Virtual Livers, including Kouichi, in an article accompanied by their designs and profiles.

On 15 June 2019, Kouichi published his first video, a self-introduction.

On 17 June 2019, Kouichi's Weibo account was created.

On 19 June, Kouichi was the second member of the second wave to debut on stream.

* 「二期生」("Second Generation") - Kouichi, Nanami and Ichigo. They are debut-mates.
* 「光一果」("Kouichigo") - Kouichi and Ichigo
* 「光八海」(Guāng--hǎi) - Kouichi and Nanami. The name is a play on merging 光 and 海 into 光海. The two have a dynamic where Nanami likes to make fun of Kouichi, but overall in a friendly way.
* Nanami said that Kouichi likes to make jokes that nobody understands and is too intellectual.
* Kouichi's connection with a friend helped landed on a collaboration opportunity to have a batch of Zotac GeForce RTX3080 graphic card produced with Nanami's illustration printed on its shell.

The Zipper Incident Saga
* Kouichi's favourite and most respected senpai in NIJISANJI is Shizuka Rin.
* Kouichi is very active on his Weibo account. He posts his thoughts frequently and sometimes he will go on and post the food he eats in a day.
* 2021 episode (As recounted by Roi and Aza): After the first VirtuaReal Music MIXUP!!, the performing livers left through the emergency exit stairway. Roi was walking at the front. When he looked back, he noticed Kouichi’s zipper was down. The reason for this may have been a combination of the trousers being old, having moved around a lot and the livers having to change quickly. Roi zipped it up for him, which was witnessed by a very shocked Aza, who had been rubbing Kouichi's belly a moment earlier.
* 2022 episode (As recounted by Roi and Mayumi): After the Zipper Incident from last year became a popular VR meme, Kouichi was determined to prevent the same thing repeating at the 2nd VirtuaReal Music MIXUP!! by wearing a pair of sturdy trousers. In trying to break the ice at dinner, Roi jokingly began to ask Kouichi about his zipper, but caught sight of Kouichi's unzipped trousers before he finished speaking. Afraid to put Kouichi on the spot, Roi stopped himself and instead pointed it out to Aza next to him. As Aza didn't notice, Roi went and zipped it aup. Aza then pulled it back down, then Roi zipped it up, then Aza pulled it down. This repeated and was witnessed by Mayumi from across the table, who looked like she didn't feel too good. However, she was drinking soup and even though she was looking, she had been spacing out.
