Lore
Long ago, in the desolate hollows of Hell, hellhounds dominated as the realm's alpha predators. Infernal wolves born of fire; they had immense control over the flames that raged around them. The wolf packs acted as Hell's guardians, maintaining balance within the chaotic realm, and protecting it from outside threats. That was, until the demons arrived. At first the demonic waves were easily scorched, but the demons were unrelenting. Unlike the hellhounds, the demons were immortal. No matter how many the hellhounds had slain, the demons would return, stronger and more vicious than the last. They were unstoppable. As the war continued, the Demonic Overlord took notice of the hellhounds' strength. "It would be a waste to eradicate such useful beings," they thought. The hellhounds' fate was sealed. Their souls were corrupted with demonic energy, and their forms twisted to match, turning them into vicious, bloodthirsty demons. The protectors of the underworld became immortal firepowered monsters. The Overlord charged the once noble hellhounds with guarding the demon's empire at The Gates of Hell. Eons later, a tiny soul was born from the inferno. A hellhound. But this one was different from her demonic kin. She was a demon, yes, but she was not a monster. Her heart was pure. Her soul burned bright with kindness and love. The demonic influence that corrupted the rest of her kind was subdued within her. They called her "The Hellhound with a Heart from Heaven." Her unexpectedly kind demeanor drove the rest of the hellhounds away, leaving her abandoned and alone. Without the hellhounds, she sought the friendship of the souls she was meant to terrorize. She didn't wish to harm any of them. Word of her uniqueness spread like hellfire throughout the underworld. Until finally, the Demonic Overlord became aware of her existence. They were disgusted by her, and despised her perplexing nature. As an immortal being, the hellhound couldn't be destroyed, but she didn't belong in Hell. "If she wants to make friends with these damned souls, then I'll give her exactly that!" With their chaotic magic, the Demonic Overlord transformed her into a half human, half hellhound monster, and banished her to the mortal realm, never to return. No living soul would befriend such a horrifying being. She would live for eternity, shunned from all creatures. It was a fitting punishment for a mistake like her, or so they had thought... She awoke, blinded by a bright light in the sky. "Where am I?" she thought to herself. "What am I?" She stood up and looked around this strange new world. Again, she was all alone, and had nowhere to go. But she smiled confidently. There was a bright, burning future ahead of her.

On 15 October, Sinder made her return after a five-month hiatus following allegations of abusive behavior.
Allegations of abusive behaviour
On 26 April, Nanoless, the artist who worked with Sinder for several years, publicly severed all ties, alleging her and her manager REDACTED's abusive behavior in a Google document. It included accusations of manipulation, slandering, and blacklisting of other creators; pressuring for unbeneficial exclusivity; and sabotaging relationships.
VTubers Bao, Spite, and Silvervale also shared their own negative experiences, citing accusations of hijacking their editors, repeated coincidences where Sinder releases content or designs similar to other creators, as well as corroborating the claims that Nanoless was encouraged to sabotage their work for other clients, leading to project cancellations.
Several others, such as Kaizer and Sacramore, the editor and animator mentioned by Bao, Vampeaches, a VTuber who revealed REDACTED as Sinder's boyfriend, and ARUUU, another VTuber who corroborated suspicion of Sinder's uncanny obsession with Silvervale, released statements about Sinder and their experiences with her and REDACTED. Later that day, Sinder announced that REDACTED is no longer managing or overseeing her, although they later reconciled.
Sinder's initial response
On 27 April, Sinder posted her initial apology, reflecting on past mistakes, taking responsibility for the hurt caused to the community as a whole and individuals she worked with. She expressed regret for her poor communication and allowing toxic behaviour to impact their relationships. Sinder also criticized REDACTED, whom she confirmed to be her boyfriend since the start of her career, for talking negatively about her friends, pushing the idea of exclusivity deals without her knowledge, and having a toxic, competitive, business-oriented mindset. The apology generated widespread and nigh-unanimously negative criticism for allegedly being dishonest and manipulative from fans and other VTubers, including her former associates; a critical response of Shylily, in which she called Sinder "the fakest person [Shylily] ever had the displeasure of supporting", got more than 8.3 times more likes and 1.5 times more reposts than the apology itself (as of 30 April).
From the end of April to the beginning of October, Sinder lost over 32,000 followers on Twitch, 34,000 subscribers on her main YouTube channel, 4,700 on her clips channel, 5,700 on her VODs channel and 1,700 on Instagram (according to Social Blade) due to the controversy.
Sinder's full response
On 7 October, after over five months of being offline, Sinder posted a roughly 1000-page Google document titled "An Overdue Response", co-authored with REDACTED. The document refined her earlier apology, presented full chat logs and timelines from their perspectives, and aimed to refute the severe accusations of manipulation and sabotage; it argued that Nanoless, Shylily, and Silvervale had either lied or omitted key context in their claims.
REDACTED explained that Nanoless was always willing to engage in discussions about drama and gossip with him, only drawing the line when it involved Silvervale. He noted that Nanoless first raised the idea of cancelling certain commissions she had taken on (including Bao's, due to factors like burnout and workload), with him merely encouraging her to do what she thinks is best rather than specifically demanding cancellations. The exclusivity arrangement (not taking on new clients or projects from Bao or Silvervale) was mutually agreed upon, with Nanoless initially considering it fair and proceeding for about a month before ultimately backing out to resume work with Silvervale.
Regarding Silvervale, Sinder detailed ongoing comparisons and accusations of copying her (e.g., personality, voice, laugh) since her debut. She sought to connect with her and even collaborate with her to quell these comparisons, but Silvervale ignored or declined outreach. The document also announced she had forfeited her part ownership (~10%) of Gamer Supps to "protect the company" amid the fallout. Finally, it confirmed her return to streaming, with REDACTED resuming work alongside her.
On 14 October, Sinder announced her first stream since the controversy, which would take place the next day. She also clarified on her Discord that REDACTED would work with her as a moderator, not as her manager; she has a new management team for that.
