She has long, slightly wavy off-white hair with two strands on her head, two smaller braids by her neck, and a red ribbon on the right side of her bangs plus a cat's paw print hairpin on the left. She has eyes with dark magenta irises, and animal ears of the same color as her hair. She also wears a black choker with a bell on her neck.

- Starting from January 2019, she was the Wednesday host of the Niconico Live broadcast called "".
- Chikuwa's character design is based on Takehana Note's series of original characters. According to Note, he first drew Chikuwa's character and published this character design to Pixiv on 8 February 2016. Alongside Chikuwa, he also drew "Edamame", her sister with a contrasting personality. Unfortunately Edamame wasn't considered for Note's VTuber project.
- She is considered by fans as a member of the complete Takehana Family/Takehana House (竹花家) of VTubers designed by Takehana Note. Since there has not been a collaboration featuring the entire "family" together, this particular instance of the group is considered unofficial.

A cat girl who loves to sing. She is an alien who came to Earth from her homeworld called "Planet Nyanko" (にゃんこ星) in search of fishcakes. She started her activities on Earth as an idol aiming to earn 1.6 billion yen (which she also calls "Nyan-dollars").
2018
On 1 June, Chikuwa made her debut.
On 27 December, it was announced that Chikuwa would be a part of VEEMusic as its fourth member.
2019
By the end of December 2019, signs of her coming retirement started when she began to tweet about some of her problems such as her health condition and unfulfilled wishes. By the middle of the month, she informed her fans that she would make all of her livestream archives inaccessible, except for previous collaboration stream archives and cover songs.
Retirement
On 15 January, she announced on Twitter that she and Kurusu Mint will both graduate from VEEMusic on 15 February 2020. The announcement stated that Mint would continue on her own while Chikuwa would end her activities.
On 15 February, she held her graduation stream on Kurusu Mint's channel as a VEEMusic member, and then another graduation stream on her illustrator Takehana Note's channel as a Takehana Family member.
