Background
Mikeneko was originally a regular streamer and utaite based in Japanese site Niconico Douga, with her earliest known activities dating back to 2011. She has since been moved her streaming activities to TwitCasting around 2015, but continued her utaite activities on Niconico Douga until 2017. She also had uploaded a single song cover and a facecam stream, as well as few gameplay footages of Splatoon on YouTube, but that channel has since been lost.
Mikeneko's Twitter account was created on December 2010. Her current YouTube channel was created on 22 February 2022, where she hosted a few livestreams, mostly with a static image as an avatar.
On 20 April 2022, she uploaded a silhouette of her new Live2D avatar, with the next few days revealing bits of it. She debuted on 24 April 2022 on YouTube channel.

On 30 December, Mikeneko announced that she would get a new model.
2023
On 3 January, Mikeneko debuted her second model and announced her merch shop.
On 18 January, she released her first original song "drop."
On 14 March, during the white valentine's day, Mikeneko debuted the second outfit for her second model. This costume is Chinese style, with a black cheongsam, pink hair with two small buns, a small panda-shaped bag.
On 22 July, she debuted her third model and also her second original song "you&me."
Joining VOICE-ORE
On 23 July, it was announced that Mikeneko would join the virtual voice actor agency VOICE-ORE under the stage name/alias "Koito Ria" (恋糸りあ).
On 26 September, she released her first solo cover song "Ghost in a Flower" by Yorushika.
On 25 December, Japanese multimedia company announced Koito Ria's upcoming debut as one of their music artists in Spring 2024.
2024
On 18 January, Mikeneko released her third original song "world end."
On 30 April, her Spring 2024 music artist debut and CD release under Pony Canyon was canceled, officially due to "production circumstances"; this news comes in the wake of her separate legal dispute with the utaite Mafumafu from January, who she admitted to have been married to from 2021-2022.
On 1 May, she announced the launch on stream of her "Song Project", a series of original song releases and concerts in response to the cancellation of her music artist debut.

On 30 June, VOICE-ORE disbanded, and Mikeneko went back to being independent.

Events
- On 26 August 2023, Mikeneko was slated to participate in the Apex Festival Summer Campaign Again (Apex Fest 5) tournament along with Kirschtorte and Niki as team "Haremono" (腫れ物). However, on 23 August, the organizers decided (after previously accepting Kirschtorte's proposed member lineup) that Mikeneko was not allowed to participate, and as a result her teammates also decided to drop out of the tournament. She asked the organizers for a reason for her banning, but did not receive a response.
- On 12 January 2024, she made her voice acting debut as the virtual voice actress Koito Ria, when her work was featured in the Winter 2024 anime Isekai Onsen Paradise (異世界の湯), which began airing starting on that day. She voiced the character "Lilium", an elf girl from another world.
