About
Ame-chan, also known as Soyokaze Ame, was a Japanese VTuber from virtual Kyushu who graduated at the end of December 2019. She streamed in Japanese, especially softly spoken ASMR, and paired that with acting videos that showed off her voice training, fitting someone who wanted to become a voice actor. After rebooting her channel, she handed it over to her successor, Minakaze Ame.

Appearance
Originally, Soyokaze Ame had long white hair with a long ahoge and a cross-shaped hair pin to prevent her bangs from blocking her dark purple eyes. In some videos, she tied her hair to a ponytail. Ame had a dark purple scarf surrounding her neck and she wore a long white dress.
She changed her appearance which then resembles a high school student, with shorter and darker hair tied with a yellow leaf-like pin. Her eye color gets brighter and she wears a bright purple scarf. She appears in a shorter dress and a white half belly uniform with bright purple and yellow accent colors.
Personality
Soyokaze Ame is a kind girl who is also cute and talkative. She likes sweets a lot, and most of the time she gets caught eating it in her videos and streams.
She can also speak English albeit with limited pronunciation and basic phrases like "Hey you!" or greetings like "Good evening~".
Background
Her Twitter account was created in July 2017, while her YouTube channel was created on 7 June 2018.
Trivia
- Having not done her homework, Ame accidentally set her Twitter birthdate to 8 June 2018 (her debut date). As a result, her Twitter account got suspended for violating Twitter's terms and conditions. Apparently, the ban has been lifted.
- Her given name Ame shares the same pronunciation for the Japanese word for "candy" (飴).
- She likes sweets and some of her videos start with her eating a candy.
- She is able to speak English, attracting global viewers to her channel although most of her videos are in Japanese.

On 10 June, Soyokaze Ame uploaded her first video on YouTube.
On 18 June, her YouTube channel reached 1,000 subscribers. She got a new twintails hairstyle.
On 15 July, her YouTube channel reached 5,000 subscribers. Her new ponytail hairstyle and Yukata ver.1 outfit was implemented.
On 30 July, she uploaded her cover of Onegai Darling, singing the song with a .
On 17 August, her YouTube channel reached 10,000 subscribers. She received a new hairstyle.
On 14 October, her YouTube channel reached 20,000 subscribers.
2019
On 12 February, Ame's YouTube channel reached 30,000 subscribers. She also got a new 3D model.
On 9 June, she celebrated her 1st Anniversary on YouTube with a commemorative ASMR stream. This would be her last known stream before going on an indefinite hiatus.
Retirement
On 31 December 2019, Ame officially announced her retirement — after she joined the labor force, she decided to take a break from being a Virtual YouTuber.
To not make followers upset, she rebooted her channel with a new character. Now the same channel is hosted by Soyokaze Ame's successor Minakaze Ame, a Virtual YouTuber who also makes ASMR videos and shares a similar character design.
