Personality
Azumi is the youngest member of the Utai Family, but she has a more mature personality and more "adult" tastes than her older sister Itsumi. She doesn't mind talking about these "unseiso" topics. She also has a sharp tongue and occasionally makes harsh remarks in games when startled or placed in difficult situations.
Appearance
Azumi has pinkish white hair with red highlights. Her short wavy hair turns pink at the tips. Her eyes have red irises with purple pupils, but the right eye is typically covered by her hair.
On her original design, she has a small black cap behind and a black coronet with violet crystals off-center on her head. She wears a pair of long black lace gloves that goes up to her upper arms. On her body she wears a deep red, long cocktail dress with black accents and a magenta layer on the reverse side of the outer skirt, an argyle diamond pattern on the middle layer skirt, and a sheer black fabric on the innermost skirt that goes down to her ankles. She has black shoes on her feet.
Background
Azumi's Twitter account was created on June 2019. Her YouTube channel was created on 23 April 2019.
Fans
- Azumi's fans are called Buzzmin (バズ民).
Relationships
- "Utai-ke" (歌衣家, Utai Family), along with Utai Makea and Utai Itsumi. ** A group of 3 independent VTubers with a shared character designer: in this virtual family, the character designer Makea is considered their "mother," so Itsumi and Azumi are the "daughters." Azumi was "born" later and is considered the second child. ** The daughters consider their Live2D modeller Kanbutsu Himono to be their "father." ** Makea's IRL friend Nejimaki Katari is considered their "aunt," and the girls address her as "obasama" (おばさま, dear aunt). * "Haiyuazu" (はいゆあーず) - Hanakoto Igusa, Utai Itsumi, Yukimi and Azumi.
Likes and dislikes
- Favorite food: canned oranges (#2) and salt (#1). She eats a spoonful of salt every day. ** She likes lewd things (e.g. lewd cosplay, ero manga, AV), especially ones marketed "for men." ** She once did a stream where she reviewed H-manga recommended to her by viewers. The H-manga's artist later drew a (safe) illustration of her as thanks for the review. * Dislikes: horror games
Miscellaneous
- She has tasted "tsuchikabe" (土壁, earth plaster wall) before. She said the one at her home tasted rather sweet with a sandy texture.
- She can play the guitar and has practiced singing while playing it on stream before.
- She once had a talk stream collab with Tsukishita Kaoru where they discussed various cosmetics and make-up.
- Azumi shares her character designer Utai Makea with Utai Itsumi and Nejimaki Katari.

Profile
Hi I'm Japanese Vtuber!! Please call me azumi!! I stream pointless talking and noobest playing.
Azumi (alternatively stylized as "Asme" or "As_me") is the second daughter of the virtual Utai family.
2019
On 13 July, Azumi held her debut stream on YouTube in a call with her character designer and VTuber parent Utai Makea as her conversation partner.
On 4 August, she was featured as the singer of a parody song created by her VTuber sister Utai Itsumi titled Vtuber Cup Size Fortune Telling Song, which also featured 11 other female VTubers for the visuals.
On 3 October, she uploaded her cover of Yoake to Hotaru (夜明けと蛍) by n-buna feat. Hatsune Miku.
2020
On 30 April, Azumi premiered her cover of Gossip (ゴシップ) by OSTER project feat. Hatsune Miku.
On 25 May, she uploaded a video summary introducing herself in 10 minutes.
On 18 August, her (collaboration with Utai Itsumi, Yukimi and Hanakoto Igusa) cover of Ikenai Borderline (いけないボーダーライン, Forbidden Borderline) by Walküre premiered on Yukimi's channel.
On 24 August, she revealed a new 2D model, a 9-year-old version of herself.
2021
On 22 February, Azumi premiered her cover of Möbius (メビウス) by Hiiragi Kirai feat. flower.
On 30 April, she unveiled her second costume.
On 12 July, she celebrated her second anniversary.
2022
On 24 June, the song Ichimou Shujin (一網狩尽) composed by Hibari Ukyo from the compilation album AIENKIEN was released digitally on YouTube, Apple Music and Spotify, featuring Azumi as the singer of the song.
Retirement
On 27 June, Azumi announced her retirement from her VTuber activities. She cited as a reason her failure to find a new job, and as a result she will be returning to her parents' house where streaming will be very difficult, moving forward. She has considered switching to a more professional career, which would also require her to devote her time to studying, ultimately leading to her decision to retire.
2023
On 24 December, Azumi made a post-retirement surprise guest appearance in a Christmas Eve gift exchange collaboration on Yukimi's channel featuring the four members of "Haiyuazu" (はいゆあーず): Yukimi, Hanakoto Igusa, Azumi and her sister Itsumi.
2024
On 24 December, Azumi made another post-retirement guest appearance in a Haiyuazu Christmas Eve gift exchange collab on Yukimi's channel.
2025
On 29 January, Azumi appeared in another Haiyuazu collab, this time celebrating the new year on Utai Itsumi's channel.
2026
On 4 January, Azumi announced on Twitter that she may do a stream on 6 January. However, she did not mention if she was officially returning to VTubing, or if this was just a special occurrence.
Return
On 6 January, she ended her retirement from streaming with a Haiyuazu R.E.P.O. collab, but this time with her own stream to show her POV. This is her first stream in the 4 years since she retired. She later tweeted after the stream that she intends to do more streams occasionally when opportunities allow.
On 10 March, she did another collab stream, this time with Utai Meika and Utai Itsumi where they played R.E.P.O. together. Notably, this is the Utai Family's first collab after several years (unofficially, since it's with Meika and not his female persona Makea). Azumi's stream title humorously refers to Itsumi as her sister but asks who Meika is.
Identity
- Her name is officially spelled "Azumi" on her YouTube about page, music services and her ending screens, while the stylized form "Asme" can be found on Twitter and some channel graphics. Both forms are considered valid and interchangeable. ** She knows some English, explaining to her VTuber parent Makea that "Asme," the stylized version of her name, is wordplay about the similarity between "Asme" and the English phrase "As me". This continues a trend with Makea/Meika, whose stylized name is a play on the English phrase "Make a (...)".
