Mitsurugi Lia ( ミツルギリア, 御剣莉亚 , 御剑莉亚 ) is a female Japanese Virtual YouTuber formerly associated with WACTOR. She debuted in late 2019 with Mirais, and was later part of WACTOR's 1st generation along with Tsukito Hana, Kogure Piyoko and Nanaha Rui, before becoming an independent VTuber. She has long dark hair that's red on the opposite side, arranged in twintails using black hairties with red outlines. As a cat girl, she has black cat ears and eyes with red irises. She has a thick black collar around her neck.

Her Twitter account was created in December 2019, and her YouTube channel on 12 December. Her first tweet was published on 13 December. Her YouTube debut was on 15 December, but the oldest video currently available on her YouTube channel is from 29 December.

Lia became a bilibili member on 19 March 2020, and according to a post, she made her debut on that platform on 2 April.

Recasting and re-debut

A new Twitter account for Lia was created in July 2024.

On 1 July, Lia's YouTube channel uploaded two new videos announcing the return of Mitsurugi Lia using a new voice and rejoining WACTOR (now rebranded as 910inc). In one of those videos, this new Lia announced that the original voice for Lia had consented to this replacement despite the fact that she had retired after parting ways with the company.

On 6 July, Mitsurugi Lia held her re-debut stream under 910inc.

On 22 October, she released her first cover song, "Happy Halloween" by Junky feat. Kagamine Rin.

On 23 January, she celebrated her YouTube channel's monetization with a karaoke stream.

On 13 December, she debuted her 3D model for her first anniversary streaming on YouTube.

2021

On 19 January, Lia published a presentation video in Spanish following Hizuki Miu's which was released three days before.

On 6 February, she held her 60,000 YouTube subscribers celebration.

On 19 February, she held her 80,000 YouTube subscribers celebration.

On 1 March, she announced via Twitter she would soon debut her first original song. On 3 March, she released her song "Astrolabe".

On 5 May, she held her a 3D stream for her 100,000 YouTube subscribers celebration. During the stream, Lia also teased her second original song written by her and *Luna, and hummed a bit of its tune.

On 21 June, she debuted a baby version of her 2D model, with a collared red dress, white apron and baby rattle, for a karaoke stream. Since then, she has used it occassionally as an alternative avatar for other streams and videos.

On 22 June, she announced via Twitter that she would soon debut a second costume. Two days later, on 24 June, she revealed her new model on Bilibili, and one day later on YouTube. Her new costume costume with a black and white dress with tints of red, a black jacket with red quilted lining and wide sleeves, black thighighs, black boots and fingerless black gloves. Her hair comes in both pink and black with shades of red.

2023

On 28 February, WACTOR's Twitter account announced that Lia would leave the agency and continue her activities as an independent VTuber.

Retirement

On 8 March, Lia's Twitter account made a statement announcing the immediate end to all of Lia's streaming activities. The statement alleges that as a result of defamation and slander surrounding certain rumors involving her, Lia's mental state had taken a drastic downturn. Though now in the care of relatives, she agreed that it would be best to end her activities as a streamer. As of 12 March, all of her Twitter accounts have been deleted while her YouTube channel has had all but one video either deleted or privated.

2025

On 7 June, the new Lia released her first original song, "Housecat Syndrome" (ハウスキャット症候群).

* On 28 May 2020, it was announced in Famitsu that she would make an appearance in the game Neptunia Virtual Stars as one of the VTuber guest characters alongside Kogure Piyoko and Hizuki Miu.
