Petra often comes off as a calm and soft-spoken girl, though she's shown herself to have a somewhat blunt, charmingly honest and sassy side mixed into her nature. She often becomes easily frustrated while playing games, and tends to curse frequently or pretend to sob. Overall, Petra is a very sweet and caring person, always trying to help her fellow livers and to show appreciation to them.

Due to her soft voice, short model, and tendency to get frustrated easily, Petra has gained a reputation as the easiest member of NIJISANJI EN to tease. As she's often on the receiving end of light-hearted bullying during collabs, Petra often has to reassure viewers that she's used to these kinds of friendships and is on good terms with her fellow Livers.

Petra also has a sizable following among Japanese fans due to her high proficiency in Japanese. She does her best to accommodate both English-speaking and Japanese-speaking fans, often scheduling streams during JP-friendly hours or holding Japanese-only streams.

Background

On 30 November 2020, NIJISANJI opened auditions for their new English branch, with the audition period lasting until 15 December. YouTube channels for NIJISANJI EN's second wave were created on 8 July 2021, and their Twitter accounts were also created in July 2021.

NIJISANJI EN's second wave, OBSYDIA, was announced on 14 July 2021, accompanied by a short teaser with the new Livers' designs and voices.

Debut

OBSYDIA began their activities on 18 July 2021 (JST) as part of a special debut program on the NIJISANJI English channel. Petra was the second of the group to debut, with commentary provided by Finana Ryugu. Petra's debut stream featured an introductory video in the form of a visual novel playthrough, followed by her rendition of "Snow Halation."

Afterwards, all three members of OBSYDIA appeared on the main channel. OBSYDIA's first original song, "Black Out", was released shortly after the debut program. The song's composition and lyrics were written by TeddyLoid and the lyrics' story was made by Ryushen.

She streams using a gaming laptop instead of a desktop PC, owning a personal macbook and a gaming laptop used for stream. As of October 2022, she owns a desktop PC as well as her two laptops.
Petra has editing as her hobby and she used her abilities to edit her own covers and also was paid by Elira, Luca and Pomu to make a MV for their own covers.
Because her name looks similar to "Peter Griffin", her ikemen voice is referred to as Peter.
Petra has her own little universe with her different identities from her streams: She has debut Petra, an identity she created based on her personality in her first weeks as a liver; she has Peter Gurin, her male alterego which had his own debut in January 2022; she has Petrin Gurin as a younger version of her who speaks in "uwu mode" and Yankee Petra, an older and sexy version of her.
Upon her first visit to the NIJISANJI World Minecraft server, Petra was unhappy with the house that Selen built for OBSYDIA, so she (jokingly) claimed that she was leaving OBSYDIA. Pomu initially agreed to adopt Petra into LazuLight, but changed her mind after discovering Petra killed some of LazuLight's sheep to make a bed. She later built her own house next to the OBSYDIA house, which Pomu and Finana later renovated into an igloo.
During a collab with Selen, Petra joked that her uncle was Riku Tazumi, the CEO of ANYCOLOR, parent company of NIJISANJI. This led to a running joke that Petra got into NIJISANJI through nepotism.
She gets motion sickness easily.
A running joke among fans is to debate whether Petra has flippers or hands.
Reimu Endou is her best friend, with both of them being friends for years even before NIJISANJI and calling each other wife as a signal of their affection. Outside of Reimu, Petra is also very close to Enna, Millie and Elira, who she called her closest friends in the agency before.
A running joke between Petra and Reimu fans is how each of them flirt with other girls and "cheat" on each other in twitter and collabs. This happens so much that PTR was suggested as a unit name for them, which was shut down as it was a reference to Petra to Reimu but also to NTR. Still, PTR is used every time they cheat on each other even if the unit name did not became reality
Petra designed the original, defunct neon logo for OBSYDIA.
Prior to her debut, staff originally suggested for her name to be "Petra Gurin VI" or "Petra Gurin, the Fifth".
She hates cucumbers.
Her second outfit featured noticeably larger boobs, which she initially claimed was just two loaves of bread that she had stuffed down her shirt. Since then, both EN Livers and fans tend to refer to boob size increases in new outfits as "bread upgrades" or "visiting the bread shop."
Her favorite love interest from Amnesia is Toma, who infamously puts the main character in a cage. In addition to jokes about Petra enjoying being kept in a cage, Petra also sometimes jokes about keeping Pentomos in a cage.

2021

On 27 July, she reached 100,000 subscribers on YouTube. At the time, this made her the fastest member of NIJISANJI EN to reach this milestone, as well as the sixth-fastest member of NIJISANJI overall, behind Eden-gumi.

On 17 September, OBSYDIA's debut celebration voice packs were made available for sale.

On 26 September, she opened memberships on her Youtube channel.

On 1 October, she premiered her cover of "phony" by Tsumiki.

On 4 December, she celebrated her birthday with a nine-hour stream, during which she premiered a cover of "Tokimeki Broker" by PMaru, with visuals drawn by chika. During the call-in portion of her stream, she spoke with over twenty Livers from various NIJISANJI branches.

On 19 December, Petra's "First Step Goods" merchandise and Christmas 2021 voice pack went up for sale.

2022

On 1 January, Petra's New Year 2022 voice pack went up for sale.

On 20 August, OBSYDIA held a special announcement stream where they revealed that they would be getting new costumes. The costume debuts would be under the Twitter hashtag "#OBSYDIARunway" where the audience can also send in their outfit predictions. Fans could post outfit predictions on twitter using the hashtag "#PetraHandArc".

On 24 August, Petra revealed her new outfit, a "combat idol" military uniform with a full mesh bodystocking, a beret, and a black-and-orange coat lined with fur. She sports a significantly longer hairstyle with her iconic "paintbrush" hair changed to a braid on her left side. Petra also announced that she had grown during the past year in both outfits, bringing her official height up to 152cm.

On 25 October, ANYCOLOR announced that Petra would be featured in the fifth set of Liver Outfit Goods alongside NIJISANJI Liver Nishizono Chigusa. These goods consisted of hoodies based on their default outfits.

On November, Petra announced that she had moved from USA to Japan to live alone for studies as a full time student after studying online through her university for the past year.

On 31 December, Petra and Shu became the MC for the pre-show of the NIJISANJI Music Unit Festival 2022 Day 2.

2023

On 3 January, Petra appeared in NIJISANJI's 5th anniversary program on the main channel.

On 5 January, Petra's "New Year 2023" goods went up for sale. This series featured the members of OBSYDIA and Ethyria. Merchandise included acrylic stands, kakejiku-style tapestries, hologram badges, acrylic plates, and random omamori.

On 3 April, NIJISANJI announced a new program project for its main channel, "NIJIBAN". The new program would air weekly on Tuesdays at 22:00 JST, and unlike existing programs, its content would change each month. The first NIJIBAN program, "Nagao & Petra's We are NIJISANJI" (長尾とペトラのたいして変わらん), would be hosted by Nagao Kei and NIJISANJI EN's Petra Gurin, and would air for four weeks starting on 4 April.

On 25 June, Petra reached 500,000 subscribers on her YouTube channel.

On 3 November, during Reimu Endou's birthday stream, the unofficial group NijiUK created by Petra, Reimu, Enna Alouette and Millie Parfait since Fall 2021, announced that the group will become an official sub-unit in NIJISANJI EN and would be renamed as Zuttoღo (meaning forever friends in English). This marks the first official sub-unit in NIJISANJI EN. All members will still continue in their original waves Obsydia and Ethyria. Alongside this announcement, they also announced that all members would get a third outfit, with each member being themed after different seasons.

2024

On 7 March, Petra announced she would be debuting her 3D model on 16 March, 12:00PM JST.

On 12 July, Petra and Reimu Endou released their original song, "What’s waiting for us", as part of the NIJISANJI EN project: ENcounter.

On 2 December, Petra announced that she would go on hiatus from streaming in order to focus on her studies as a full-time student. She would still be active on her Twitter account and join events whenever possible during this period.

2025

On 28 November, Petra returned from her hiatus.
