Yotsuha is a bright, cheerful, and high-spirited young woman. She is quite talkative and energetic and greatly enjoys chatting with her viewers, including holding regular morning Asahapi (朝はぴ) zatsudan streams. As the sole extravert among the Ranunculus members, she often spurs on her debut-mates and drags them along with her antics; she is known for her chronic inability to sit still (動きがうるさい, "ugoki ga urusai", movement is noisy) especially after receiving her 3D model, and her energy can be very infectious.

Despite her association with four-leaf clovers, she can be shockingly unlucky in collabs featuring games with significant RNG elements. But just as her profile states, she never lets these runs of bad luck get her down. She has been described by others as a very hard worker behind the scenes, and despite her silliness, she also has a caring and nurturing side, an instinct that she herself has mentioned having.

Yotsuha has long dark purple hair that has a few white streaks, with a pair of hair buns on either side of her head. She has several hair accessories, including an orange "U4" clipped to her left hair bun and some hairclips including a purple UFO clip. She has yellow-orange eyes. Background

On 18 June 2021, ANYCOLOR announced the launch of VIRTUAL TALENT ACADEMY (VTA), a vocational school and talent development project to help prospective Virtual YouTubers develop skills related to streaming and content creation. Applications for VTA's first generation auditions were accepted from 18 June to 5 July 2021.

On 1 November 2021, VTA opened official YouTube and Twitter accounts and revealed the names and appearances of its first generation students, including Umise Yotsuha.

On 4 November 2021, Yotsuha held her first stream on the VTA channel. Her first Tweet was made on 8 November 2021.

While the students all took part in dance, vocal, acting, and other practical lessons together, they were divided into classes for lectures and classroom-based studying in smaller groups. Yotsuha was placed in class 2, alongside Kaburaki Roco, Misono Satoshi, Shikinagi Akira, and Suzumiya Sonata; the division was based on their streaming schedules, with class 1 streaming on Fridays and class 2 streaming on Thursdays.

On 16 March 2022, ANYCOLOR announced that Yotsuha would be graduating from VTA to debut directly into NIJISANJI as part of the unit "Ranunculus", the first wave of Livers formed from VTA graduates. In preparation for her debut, Yotsuha received a full redesign, and all YouTube videos previously created during her time in VTA were hidden.

Yotsuha's YouTube channel was created on 2 March 2022, and her Twitter account was also created in the same month. Her first Tweet was made on 16 March 2022.

Debut

Ranunculus made their debut on 20 March 2022. Yotsuha was the second of the group to debut. Afterwards, all three members appeared in a special debut program on the NIJISANJI Official channel.

Ranunculus' first original song, "DONBURA KONBURA SPEAKERS", was released shortly after the program. This song was written and produced by 's.

Fans

Yotsuha's fans are officially referred to as "Shirotsumates" (シロツメイト), a portmanteau of "shirotsumekusa" (シロツメクサ, ) and "mate".

Character and lore

The former VIRTUAL TALENT ACADEMY (VTA) first generation members hid their true identities from each other. As it turned out, she and Kaburaki Roco were the only "normal" humans among them - with the rest of her former classmates being a half-yōkai, a person who can see fairies, an heir to a mafia family, an heir to a phantom thief family, a former intelligence officer, and a former contract killer.
After her NIJISANJI debut, she no longer ages.

Miscellaneous

Lore-wise she is described as being a "poor" university student, but this does not seem to be far off from her real life situation:
The only cooking implements she owns are one singular frying pan and a singular spatula.
She has no rice cooker, so she eats on its own, leading Amagase Muyu to worry about her and tell her to "stop eating bird food". Her staple foods are soup, water, and furikake.
When she debuted, she had a refrigerator but no freezer, so did not use it. A bit over half a year after debuting, she was finally able to buy one with a freezer and was quite happy about being able to eat ice cream.
Despite not owning a microwave or a vacuum cleaner, her PC has fairly high specifications and was quite expensive. She bought a high refresh-rate monitor intended for FPS gaming specifically for her NIJISANJI debut, and has stated that she "starved" afterwards as a result.
She has worked several part-time jobs while repaying the debt to her parents for covering her tuition, including at a convenience store, in customer service, and in restaurants.
She has a younger sister, who she refers to as "Imohapi" (いもはぴ); within her family Yotsuha is referred to as "Nene" (ねね), an even cuter abbreviation of nee-nee (姉姉, older sister). She tends to dote on and spoil Imohapi, and when she returns home they often play multiplayer together.
She can play the French horn and trumpet, and was part of the brass band in middle school. Other instruments she has played before but is not as proficient at include flute, drums, ', ',, and piano. She is currently learning to play the bass guitar.
Sports she has experience in include swimming, volleyball, and horseback riding. She was also part of the cheerleading club in high school, but had to quit due to an injury.
She took the Hogwarts House test and was sorted into Hufflepuff.
Interestingly, the four girls of Ano 8-Nin were each sorted into the houses roughly corresponding to their image colors for their respective playthroughs: Yotsuha into Hufflepuff, Muyu into Gryffindor, Nei into Ravenclaw, and Roco into Slytherin.
She is a good friend of 's in real life. She revealed this fact in a stream on 10 July 2023, with Miki confirming it in a blog post the next day. Miki revealed that Yotsuha had previously come to see her at, while Miki had watched Yotsuha's 3D model debut and was surprised when Yotsuha sung Morning Musume's "Daisuki Dakara Zettai ni Yurusanai" (大好きだから絶対に許さない).
Her reason for joining NIJISANJI was that while she knew she wanted to do something fun and related to entertainment, she wanted to do something where she could share that fun with others.

On 20 March, on the day of her first stream, Yotsuha reached 50,000 subscribers on her YouTube channel.

On 9 April, her channel was approved for monetization.

On 8 July, Yotsuha released her first music cover, of Natsushiro Takaaki's "From Tokyo" (フロムトーキョー).

On 14 September, Ponto Nei announced during a zatsudan stream that Ranunculus would receive their second 2D outfits, revealing them via a stream relay on 16 September to commemorate their half-anniversary since debut.

2023

On 16 March, Ranunculus released their first group cover for their first debut anniversary, of "GETCHA!" by Giga & KIRA.

On 31 March, NIJISANJI announced the 3D debut of Ranunculus as a group, with all of them happening in April for each member over the course of the following 3 weeks. Yotsuha was the second to have her 3D model debut on 14 April. Her 3D debut stream peaked at over 50,000 concurrent viewers.

On 15 May, Yotsuha reached 200,000 subscribers on her YouTube channel.

On 16 June, Yotsuha unveiled her NIJI3D (i.e., home 3D) model as part of a countdown stream for her birthday.

On 24 June, NIJISANJI announced that Ranunculus would be holding their first 3D live concert on 30 June. It was streamed for free on Yotsuha's channel. At the concert, they debuted their second original song, "Kamisama Record" (カミサマレコード), which was released on digital platforms at midnight the next day, followed by the music video on 7 July. Like "DONBURA KONBURA SPEAKERS", the song was written and produced by MONACA's Hirokawa Keiichi.

On 30 June, NIJISANJI announced that Yotsuha would receive a 3.0 Brushup to her 2D model. She showcased her updated model and its new facial expressions in a reveal stream on 6 July.

From 4 November to 11 November, coinciding with the second anniversary of their VTA debuts, the 8 former members of VTA's first generation who ultimately debuted with NIJISANJI held the Ano 8-Nin Nayutan Medley (あの8人でナユタンメドレー), a cover relay in which each member sang a different NayutalieN song. Yotsuha released a cover of "Morning Star Galactica" (明星ギャラクティカ) on 9 November as part of this relay. The relay concluded with a cover of "Alien Alien" (エイリアンエイリアン) by the full group on 12 November.

At NijiFes 2023, which was held from 23 December to 24 December, she took part in the 3rd NIJISANJI Uta Uma Senshuken!! singing contest in the duet division alongside Todo Kohaku on Day 1, and participated in the NIJISANJI Dance Live as a member of Team IDD on Day 2.

2024

During a 3D live concert she held for her birthday on 17 June, Yotsuha debuted her first original song, "Kimagure-ya no Weather Report" (気まぐれ屋のウェザーリポート), which was released on digital platforms at midnight the following day. The song was written and produced by Natsushiro Takaaki.

2022

On 18 June, she participated in Debidebi Debiru's "First Online Argument Battle" as one of 12 participants.
On 24 June, the fifth NIJISANJI and Sweets Paradise collaboration café involving Noctyx and Ranunculus was announced, running from 1 July to 7 August. Participating locations served food and drink items themed after the individual members, and customers could receive other goods such as place mats and coasters with eligible purchases.
On 28 August, she took part in the 2022 edition of NIJI Melody Time, a NIJISANJI singing relay collaboration.
On 4 September, it was announced that Yotsuha would be added as a character in as part of the NIJISANJI DIVA expansion, with the collaboration pack going on sale on 24 December.

2023

On 13 November, skincare companies and atrix announced a collaboration campaign with NIJISANJI, with Yotsuha as one of the chosen Livers. Customers who purchased ¥1,500 worth of eligible products could upload proof of their receipts in exchange for digital wallpapers, while those who purchased products at certain stores also received stickers and clear posters; all goods featured original artwork of the Livers involved in the campaign. The campaign ran from 14 November to 3 December.

2024

On 8 April, the, Japan's top tier of association football, announced a renewal of their annual partnership with NIJISANJI for the 2024 season. Yotsuha was announced to be one of the Livers chosen for the 2024 campaign, endorsing . The collaboration included various goods featuring artwork of the Livers in team regalia, stadium advertisements, and the Livers participating in official commentary for matches.
