Since her very first introduction as a VIRTUAL TALENT ACADEMY (VTA) trainee, Roco has been very talkative and creative on her streams; some examples of her creativity include her debut stream, in which instead of a typical introduction like her debut-mates, she presented it in form of a company orientation of what would be her own amusement park; and the monetization pre-party stream, where she did a "pseudo-superchat reading" using messages submitted from her fans, something that originated from one of her VTA-era streams.

Post-debut, Roco often takes advantage of her inexperience in gaming, making fresh reactions to already-popular games like, and ; she also regularly hosts a special chatting/zatsudan stream where she presents a report of her sightseeing.

Despite having the gaps in officially debuting under NIJISANJI for almost a year and half a year respectively, Roco still sees her fellow ex-VTA groups Ranunculus and VOLTACTION as friends like her debut-mates, even expressing her agony over treating them as her senpais publicly.

Background

On 18 June 2021, ANYCOLOR announced the launch of VIRTUAL TALENT ACADEMY (VTA), a vocational school and talent development project to help prospective Virtual YouTubers develop skills related to streaming and content creation. Applications for VTA's first generation auditions were accepted from 18 June to 5 July 2021.

On 1 November 2021, VTA opened official YouTube and Twitter accounts and revealed the names and appearances of its first generation students, including Kaburaki Roco.

On 4 November 2021, Roco held her first stream on the VTA channel. Her first Tweet was made on 8 November 2021.

While the students all took part in dance, vocal, acting, and other practical lessons together, they were divided into classes for lectures and classroom-based studying in smaller groups. Roco was placed in class 2, alongside Umise Yotsuha, Misono Satoshi, Shikinagi Akira, and Suzumiya Sonata; the division was based on their streaming schedules, with class 1 streaming on Fridays and class 2 streaming on Thursdays.

Following Ranunculus' NIJISANJI debut in March 2022 and the arrival of VTA's second generation students in June 2022, the classes were re-shuffled. Roco became part of the new class 2, alongside Fura Kanato, Satoshi, Tachitsute Toto, Meano, Mikuni Otoha, Kasukabe Azusa, Koyanagi Rou, Hiyama Ritsu, Onibushi Chihaya, and Hoshirube Sho.

On 16 January 2023, ANYCOLOR announced the debut of 7 new female NIJISANJI Livers, including Roco - making her the last active member of VTA's first generation to graduate from VTA and debut into NIJISANJI. The 7 Livers' debut stream relays were to be held on 19 January and 20 January 2023. In preparation for her debut, Roco received a full redesign, and all YouTube videos previously created during her time in VTA were hidden.

Roco's YouTube channel was created on 24 October 2022, and her Twitter in January 2023. Her first Tweet was made on 16 January 2023.

The 7 Livers whose debuts were announced on 16 January 2023 started their activities that same day. On 17 January 2023, they were introduced on a segment of 's news program, which aired nationwide and included profiles and reactions to the announcement of their debut.

Roco made her debut on 20 January 2023, and was the sixth of the group to hold her first stream. On 21 January 2023, the members held a clip compilation relay, with clips taken from a collab they had done prior to their debut.

Character and lore

She is the self-styled future Representative Director and Park Director of the Kaburaki Amusement Park (tentative name). In reality, she is a freshman university student working tirelessly to revive her favorite amusement park. To this end, she tries her best to recruit investors who can help, but thus far has not been very successful.
After debuting, she distributed a recruitment ad on her Twitter account, and gained the support of Igarashi Rika and Sophia Valentine but not from investors.
To achieve her goal, she has gone to various amusement parks across the country to have fun for research, including: Nasu Highland Park, Chichibu Geo Gravity Park, Tokyo, , and.
The former VIRTUAL TALENT ACADEMY (VTA) first generation members hid their true identities from each other. As it turned out, she and Umise Yotsuha were the only "normal" humans among them - with the rest of her former classmates being a half-yōkai, a person who can see fairies, an heir to a mafia family, an heir to a phantom thief family, a former intelligence officer, and a former contract killer.
After her NIJISANJI debut, she no longer ages.

Miscellaneous

Idios' default outfits all feature accessories with a shared ◇◆ motif, all of which are rreal-life accessories from the brand Dinamis' 23AW / symbol Collection (a brand they later officially became models for). The accessories were designed by Sophia's illustrator yadapot.
Roco's accessories include Ring NBS-2303 on her left hand and Fastener Charm NBS-2302 on her waist pouch.
Idios is the fifth NIJISANJI debut wave in a row in which the wave's presumed youngest member is also the tallest, with Roco following the same trend as Ranunculus' Amagase Muyu, ILUNA's Kyo Kaneko (after his main model update), VOLTACTION's Seraph Dazzlegarden, and XSOLEIL's Doppio Dropscythe.
The 16 cm (more than 6") height difference between her and Shishido Akari (Idios' shortest member) caused Akari to be very intimidated by her when they first met, however they later quickly bonded while shopping together and talking about their favorite animals. In fact, their first ever collabs were with each other.
Roco is not only the youngest member of Idios but of Ano 8-Nin; she is the only member of both groups who is too young to drink and will remain that way forever . She still does participate in Idios' drinking off-collabs and sometimes goes out with them when they go drinking, however her debut-mates make it very clear that Roco only drinks cola or other non-alcoholic beverages when this happens.
On 2 July 2023, Sophia, Ishigami Nozomi, Rika, and Kuramochi Meruto held a drinking off-collab; while this was happening, Roco sulked about being underage and thus being left out as she was streaming solo. As consolation, Nozomi and Akari later took her out for .
The other girls in Ano 8-Nin (i.e., the members of Ranunculus) started doting on and spoiling Roco when they realized she was younger than they were; Roco in turn wishes that the Ranunculus girls were her actual older sisters.

She is somewhat self-conscious of the relative lack of NSFW/sensitive fanworks featuring her, and has asked Rika for advice on how to improve her sex appeal. She even left a comment on a clip replying "kiresou" (キレそう, I'm about to lose it) to a viewer comment comparing the number of Idios members' NSFW fanworks.
She has also requested that viewers make of her, and if they don't, she'll draw them herself.
She took the Pottermore Hogwarts House test and was sorted into Slytherin.
Interestingly, the four girls of Ano 8-Nin were each sorted into the houses roughly corresponding to their image colors for their respective playthroughs: Yotsuha into Hufflepuff, Muyu into Gryffindor, Ponto Nei into Ravenclaw, and Roco into Slytherin.
Her first exposure to NIJISANJI was a video by Tsukino Mito, which she watched back in junior high school. After that, she tried unsuccessfully to audition for NIJISANJI multiple times and almost gave up until she learned about the VTA auditions, which she applied to the day they opened.
The VTubers she looks up to the most are Mito, Kizuna Ai, and Hanabatake Chaika; she even stated in an ANYCOLOR audition that she would like to play a similar role as Chaika.

On 19 January, prior to her debut, Roco reached 20,000 subscribers on her YouTube channel.

On 20 January, on the day of her first stream, Roco reached 50,000 subscribers on her YouTube channel.

On 28 January, the 7 Livers who made their debuts the previous week held their first full group collab stream on Kuramochi Meruto's channel. During this stream, they revealed their unit name for the first time: Idios.

On 4 February, Roco's channel became open for monetization, as well as channel membership two days later.

On 28 February, VTuber Style magazine's March issue went on sale, featuring an interview with the members of Idios.

On 6 May, Roco reached 100,000 subscribers on her YouTube channel during an endurance stream she held with the goal of reaching the milestone.

On 5 June, Roco released her first music cover, of ARuFa's "Boku No Yume, MECHAKUSO MUGEN WAKI" (ぼくの夢、メチャクソ無限湧き), which she also illustrated and animated the video for.

From 4 November to 11 November, coinciding with the second anniversary of their VTA debuts (and their first with Roco present as a NIJISANJI Liver), the 8 former members of VTA's first generation who ultimately debuted with NIJISANJI held the Ano 8-Nin Nayutan Medley (あの8人でナユタンメドレー), a cover relay in which each member sang a different NayutalieN song. On 16 January, Idios held a stream on Meruto's channel to celebrate their first anniversary since debut. During this stream, they announced the release of their line of first anniversary goods as well as their second group cover, of halyosy's "Blessing".

2023

On 23 January, it was announced that the January 2023 wave of NIJISANJI Livers, including Roco, were chosen as models for accessory brand Dinamis. The chosen Livers were included in advertisement campaigns at two locations featuring original illustrations highlighting their accessories:, running from 23 January to 5 February; and , running from 23 January to 29 January. This has since become a recurring collaboration, with the members of Idios continuing to model for Dinamis' subsequent collections alongside the brand's non-virtual models.
On 24 July, it was announced that the 2023 Kanda Myōjin Nōryō Matsuri (a major summer festival that takes place at ) would be collaborating with Idios. The collaboration included goods featuring original artwork of the members in ', such as shaved ice, a summer festival set (consisting of a T-shirt, hand towel, an ', badge set, and shopping bag), posters, the uchiwa separately, and -themed charms. The 7 members of Idios also performed the original theme song for the festival, "Kanda Myōjin Ondo" (神田明神音頭). The festival ran from 10 August to 13 August; non-edible goods from the collaboration were made available for online purchase from 7 August.
On 21 October, Roco was chosen as a model for Dinamis' 23AW / Added softness Collection, again featuring an original illustration highlighting the accessories she modelled.
On 16 December, Dinamis announced their first pop-up booth event, held at NijiFes 2023 from 23 December to 24 December. The event featured products modelled by the members of Idios, including the debut of their 24MW / Melty Collection, modelled by Kuramochi Meruto and Shishido Akari. It also included goods such as original stickers featuring Koshimizu Toru, Sophia Valentine, and Roco, as well as original clear files featuring all the Idios members.

2024

On 8 April, the, Japan's top tier of association football, announced a renewal of their annual partnership with NIJISANJI for the 2024 season. Roco was announced to be one of the Livers chosen for the 2024 campaign, endorsing . The collaboration included various goods featuring artwork of the Livers in team regalia, stadium advertisements, and the Livers participating in official commentary for matches.
On 20 April, the members of Idios and Hyakumantenbara Salome were revealed to be virtual models for Dinamis' 24 Nail Collection of nail polish and nail oils. A sales campaign featuring stickers and postcards with original illustrations of the chosen livers ran from 20 April to 26 May.

From 6 to 7 November, Idios held its 1st live concert "Seize The Day" at the Toyosu Pit in Tokyo.

Name

Roco's surname 鏑木 is sometimes mispronounced as the more popular reading "Kaburagi" by both new viewers and other Livers (including one of her own debut-mates); in fact, she even clarifies that it is pronounced "Kaburaki" in the descriptions of both her YouTube channel and Twitter account. It is so prevalent that her debut-mates often joke about Roco's anger over the mispronunciation.
Roco's given name is written in hiragana (ろこ), usually reserved for feminine names.
The syllables "ro" and "ko/co" are with the numbers 6 and 5 respectively, hence why the number 65 appears prominently on her clothing and her Twitter handle is @65_kaburaki. It is also the reason why she refers to 5 June, or 6/5, as "Roco no Hi" (ろこの日, Roco Day).
