Personality

Sophia's overall personality is similar to Amamiya Kokoro; she is soft-spoken, and kind, but also shy and sometimes clumsy in spite of her job as a spy, yet hardworking and cheerful. While a glimpse of her personality was shown on her pre-debut stream tweets, during a debut stream it was revealed that Sophia does indeed have an adorable voice and rather calm personality (compared to most of her other debut-mates).

While Sophia was originally considered as the most "seiso" member out of her debut wave, this has since come into question by both the fanbase and her debut-mates due to occasional moments of lewdness and many "weird but funny" stories.

Via her streams and videos, she has shown many of her creative skills just within a month since her debut, including but not limited to: songwriting, composition, 3D modelling and animating, video editing, and so on.

On the other hand, as she continued to stream Sophia's funny side was also gradually exposed; the most remarkable story of hers being her notorious addiction to mentsuyu (a noodle sauce composed of ', soy sauce, ', and sugar): during her first 1-on-1 collab with Shishido Akari, she revealed that she thought mentsuyu and soy sauce were the same thing, and uses mentsuyu for many dishes in place of soy sauce; and while talking about her story of making cookies on another stream, it was explained that she made mentsuyu and cheese-flavored cookies, which surprisingly tasted nice for her.

Appearance

Sophia has very long silvery white hair that is darker at the tips, with partially braided locks on either side of her head decorated with hair pins in the ◇◆ motif that all of the Idios members share. She has very light blue-yellow eyes and three beauty marks, one below each eye and another under the left side of her mouth. In her default appearance, she wears a white coat with cutouts, with black and blue belts and black lace butterflies on the sleeves. She wears a cropped long-sleeved black top with sheer portions and cutouts, and a long black high-waisted skirt with a high slit on the right side revealing her right leg. Both her top and her skirt appear to be made of a shiny vinyl-like material. She wears a pair of long black high-heeled boots. Her accessories include a black choker, a blue lanyard with a pouch containing her phone, a blue garterbelt around her right thigh, and a satchel decorated with Colobbit charms and keychains. Sophia's second outfit is a white military-style uniform consisting of a white cap, a white dress with a black bowtie, a white jacket (worn as a cape) with silver epaulettes and blue lining, silver badges, black gloves, black boots, and black harnesses around her shoulders and waist. The harness/belt around her waist is the attachment point for a strap that Sophia uses to carry a large silver rifle at her side. The outfit came with new hairstyles, with Sophia now able to tie her hair into a side ponytail as well as crop it short to a bob. Background

On 16 January 2023, ANYCOLOR announced the debut of 7 new female NIJISANJI Livers, including Sophia Valentine. The 7 Livers' debut stream relays were to be held on 19 January and 20 January 2023.

Sophia's YouTube channel was created on 24 October 2022, and her Twitter in January 2023. Her first Tweet was made on 16 January 2023.

Debut

The 7 Livers whose debuts were announced on 16 January 2023 started their activities that same day. On 17 January 2023, they were introduced on a segment of 's news program, which aired nationwide and included profiles and reactions to the announcement of their debut.

Sophia made her debut on 19 January 2023, and was the fourth of the group to hold her first stream. During her debut stream, Sophia showcased her musical skill by playing the guitar and singing a short version of 's "Eat the Wind" (風を食む), a cover she later uploaded as a clip. On 21 January 2023, the members held a clip compilation relay, with clips taken from a collab they had done prior to their debut.

  • Sophia is a rookie spy who graduated from a spy school, in an alternate dimension where many countries have been developing new spies in an arms race to become superior in information warfare. During a mission to retrieve a "special weapon that would ruin the world", she accidentally activated the weapon, mistaking it for a smoke bomb, and was as a result. Now, she has started streaming to make her life worth living.
  • Apparently, even just graduating from the spy school she attended is a major achievement; by doing so one is already considered a "proper spy", hence why a rookie like her was sent on that fateful mission in the first place.
  • Her codename as a spy was "Rabbit".
  • While she usually uses the first-person pronoun watashi (私), when on missions she switches to jibun (自分), considered more distant and gender neutral.
  • After coming to this world, she has not been able to connect to her spy agency in her home world. As such, she has primarily been working as an information broker. Through her transactions, she hopes to broaden her information network and eventually reconnect. Similarly, as a Liver, she hopes to collect information and [REDACTED], as specified in to her to-do list.
  • Due to her training as a spy, each time a new wave of her kōhais debuts, she devises ways of defeating each of them just in case a situation where she would have to fight them as an enemy arises. Thus far, she has done this for all four members of Oriens and all four members of Dytica.
  • She once uploaded a video showing how she built a bomb in real life, which was done to hone her skills as a spy. Please don't try this at home.
  • She is "99.99999%" human. The uncertainty comes from the fact that she is originally from another world, so what constitutes as "human" there might be different from the world she is currently in.
  • Like most of the other members of Idios, after debuting with NIJISANJI, she no longer ages.
  • Though she does admit that she is technically 21 (+1) as of 2023, she reiterates that she is still 21 years old for the most part, and that the part in brackets "has a thin presence". As she explains, because she is a NIJISANJI Liver, she exists in a gap between dimensions.

Miscellaneous

  • Idios' default outfits all feature accessories with a shared ◇◆ motif, all of which are real-life accessories from the brand Dinamis' 23AW / symbol Collection (a brand they later officially became models for). The accessories were designed by Sophia's illustrator yadapot.
  • Sophia's accessories are Smartphone Shoulder NBS-2306, two of Hair Pin NBS-2307, and a choker which is not available commercially.
  • She has an older brother, who she refers to as onii-chan (お兄ちゃん).
  • She is currently learning English and occasionally practices during morning zatsudan streams; she is one of the few NIJISANJI main branch livers whose voice packs usually come in both Japanese and English. However, she is not fluent, and still uses DeepL for translation when she wants to learn simple phrases.
  • Despite her soft voice and timid personality, she is actually quite physically capable, something she attributes to her training as a spy. Her double under jump record is 108, she can run 50 meters in 8.2 seconds, and her grip strength with either hand both exceed 30 kilograms. Once when sightseeing in, she walked 66 kilometers over the course of two days.
  • She is noted to have a rather broken unusual sense of taste, perhaps due to a combination of her overuse of mentsuyu and tolerance built up during her spy training. In addition to her obsession with mentsuyu as previously described, she once drank extremely bitter tea without flinching, much to her debut-mates' horror.
  • When Idios were asked who would most likely survive being stranded on a deserted island during their half-anniversary collab, Sophia ranked herself first, reasoning that she would be able to eat even the worst things to stay alive thanks to her sense of taste (though Yumeoi Kakeru and Lize Helesta doubt that she would be able to survive without mentsuyu).
  • Because of the association between spies and codes, Sophia Tweeted a riddle or puzzle every day for five days from 16 January to 21 January 2023. Her debut-mate Kaburaki Roco, who loves puzzles, solved all of them. She still does Tweet more puzzles for viewers to solve from time to time, using the hashtag #ソフィアからの挑戦状.
  • Before she graduated from spy school, she worked as a tutor for fifth graders and junior high school students as well as at a convenience store for undercover missions.
  • A NIJISANJI senpai she looks up to is Lain Paterson, whom she has been following since the latter's first stream.

On 19 January, on the day of her first stream, Sophia reached 50,000 subscribers on her YouTube channel.

On 28 January, the 7 Livers who made their debuts the previous week held their first full group collab stream on Kuramochi Meruto's channel. During this stream, they revealed their unit name for the first time: Idios.

On 2 February, Sophia's YouTube channel became open for monetization and channel membership.

On 9 February, Sophia reached 100,000 subscribers on her YouTube channel.

On 14 February, Sophia released her first full-length music cover to celebrate her birthday, of 's "Kataomoi" (カタオモイ).

On 16 January, Idios held a stream on Meruto's channel to celebrate their first anniversary since debut. During this stream, they announced the release of their line of first anniversary goods as well as their second group cover, of halyosy's "Blessing".

On 24 May, Sophia debuted her 3D model.

  • On 23 January, it was announced that the January 2023 wave of NIJISANJI Livers, including Sophia, were chosen as models for accessory brand Dinamis. The chosen Livers were included in advertisement campaigns at two locations featuring original illustrations highlighting their accessories:, running from 23 January to 5 February; and , running from 23 January to 29 January. This has since become a recurring collaboration, with the members of Idios continuing to model for Dinamis' subsequent collections alongside the brand's non-virtual models.
  • On 24 July, it was announced that the 2023 Kanda Myōjin Nōryō Matsuri (a major summer festival that takes place at ) would be collaborating with Idios. The collaboration included goods featuring original artwork of the members in ', such as shaved ice, a summer festival set (consisting of a T-shirt, hand towel, an ', badge set, and shopping bag), posters, the uchiwa separately, and -themed charms. The 7 members of Idios also performed the original theme song for the festival, "Kanda Myōjin Ondo" (神田明神音頭). The festival ran from 10 August to 13 August; non-edible goods from the collaboration were made available for online purchase from 7 August.
  • On 21 October, Sophia was chosen as a model for Dinamis' 23AW / Added softness Collection, again featuring an original illustration highlighting the accessories she modelled.
  • On 16 December, Dinamis announced their first pop-up booth event, held at NijiFes 2023 from 23 December to 24 December. The event featured products modelled by the members of Idios, including the debut of their 24MW / Melty Collection, modelled by Kuramochi Meruto and Shishido Akari. It also included goods such as original stickers featuring Koshimizu Toru, Sophia, and Kaburaki Roco, as well as original clear files featuring all the Idios members.

  • On 8 April, the, Japan's top tier of association football, announced a renewal of their annual partnership with NIJISANJI for the 2024 season. Sophia was announced to be one of the Livers chosen for the 2024 campaign, endorsing . The collaboration included various goods featuring artwork of the Livers in team regalia, stadium advertisements, and the Livers participating in official commentary for matches.
  • On 12 April, Sophia was chosen as a model for Dinamis' 24SS / Haru wa, Akebono. Collection, which was released on 20 April. The collaboration again featured original illustrations highlighting the accessories she modelled.
  • On 20 April, the members of Idios and Hyakumantenbara Salome were revealed to be virtual models for Dinamis' 24 Nail Collection of nail polish and nail oils. A sales campaign featuring stickers and postcards with original illustrations of the chosen livers ran from 20 April to 26 May.
  • From 8 December - 12 December, Sophia participated in the Vaultroom x Crazy Raccoon (VCR) GTA Season 3 event server. She worked at "22Hz♪", a bar run by Zuzu.

She is the only member of Idios whose name is written this way. When written in Japanese, she has the longest name by number of characters out of any Liver in NIJISANJI's main branch.
