Mococo, the younger sister, is energetic, optimistic, and especially friendly. She has a positive attitude and raises viewers' spirits with her Mococo Pup Talks. She is kind to others, although she can occasionally cause a bother when she gets overexcited. She is also very sensitive, and rather needy. She is unhappy when people call her by weird nicknames.

According to her sister Fuwawa, Mococo can be stubborn, but deep down she has a big heart. Mococo cares a great deal for her sister, although they occasionally argue. She feels lonely when they are apart, and Mococo almost never streams without her sister.

Both sisters are especially passionate when it comes to singing and dancing. They are passionate and hard-working, and have a never-give-up attitude.

Appearance

She has short blonde hair with streaks of pink and pointed dog ears with white tufts coming out, she wears a black and pink jacket, headphones and collar around her neck. Her hairpins are a light pink "X" shape and a white and pink center bandage that parallels with her sister's.

Background

Following the debut of hololive English second generation -Council-, hololive English announced a permanent English language audition page on 30 December 2021. An update to the audition page on 7 September 2022 sparked speculation of an upcoming English third generation.

Fuwawa and Mococo first discovered hololive after seeing a picture of Akai Haato on Twitter, which they initially mistook for a character from a visual novel. They were accepted to hololive as a duo after applying on four or more different occasions. They had variously applied both as a duo and as individuals, and in both English and Japanese. In one unsuccessful application, they submitted a cover of Kimi ga Tame, a song which they would go on to cover in their 2024 3D showcase. Mococo also took part in a solo interview, in which she sang Unravel while meowing the entire song.

The FUWAMOCO YouTube and Twitter accounts were originally created on 12 May 2023, one day after the rest of the group's accounts, although they contained no content at this point. Fuwawa and Mococo share an account. Separate YouTube accounts were also created for Fuwawa and Mococo, but they remained unused.

The third generation of hololive English, -Advent-, was first teased on the hololive English Twitter account with a short video on 22 July 2023. This was followed by another teaser video on 23 July, showing five new characters.

On 25 July, the hololive English YouTube channel posted a video titled Wanted!, revealing the five members of -Advent- and announcing their upcoming debuts. At the same time, the FUWAMOCO duo also posted a short teaser video and made their first tweet.

All -Advent- members' YouTube channels reached 100,000 subscribers within twelve hours of the announcement. On July 30, the FUWAMOCO channel reached 200,000 subscribers prior to the sisters' debut.

Debut

Fuwawa and Mococo made their debut stream on 31 July from 12:45 PM to 1:30 PM JST (Sunday, 30 July 2023 from 8:45 PM to 9:30 PM PDT). Their debut reached over 119,000 viewers at peak. During the stream they also previewed their first original song "Lifetime Showtime." The stream was followed by the release of their first cover, "KAIBUTSU."

Fuwawa and Mococo were the final members of hololive -Advent- to debut. In hololive tradition, this was followed by the generation all-member group collab stream. This was in turn followed by the release of their first group song, "Rebellion."

Lore

  • The members of Advent were sealed away in The Cell, a prison deep underground built to hold dangerous people and things. Its location is a closely-guarded secret.
  • Mococo helped in the prison break by barking to distract the guards. She also picked up Pero and threw him at the guards.
  • According to the video Another Rebellion, the five escaped members were later located by their jailers, who unsealed a dancing curse. However, they very quickly broke their curse.
  • The duo are referred to as the Twin Demonic Guard Dogs of hololive English -Advent-.
  • Despite being twins, their birthdays are different by one day. Fuwawa explained that they were "born under the blessing of the moon." Mori Calliope suggests that this means the elder sister Fuwawa was born shortly before midnight, and Mococo was born after midnight.
  • Despite some differences in appearance, Fuwawa and Mococo are identical twins.
  • They each have four ears: the human ears on the sides of their head, and the dog ears on top of their head. The human ears are vestigial, and are not used for hearing.
  • Fuwawa and Mococo are from a place called the Northwest Passage. It is located within the Makai, or demon world, and is in the PST timezone. It is a beautiful place with a lot of trees.
  • The Northwest Passage features twin moons. The house where the twins grew up is located in a beautiful forest full of luminescent plants and giant puffball flowers known as wild dandebaubaus, near a stream and a special tree called the Tree of Promise.
  • Demon guard dogs are tasked with protecting the gate to the demon world. However, only a select few guard dogs are selected for this position. Mococo's job is to protect your smile.
  • There are other types of demon dogs rather than guard dogs, such as demon dentist dogs and demon therapy dogs.
  • Their parents are referred to as Mama Puppy and Papa Puppy. They only speak Dog language and a little English.
  • Mama Puppy is a fan of retro games and Lord of the Rings. FUWAMOCO once borrowed a copy of Ocarina of Time from her, and found a save file named Frodo.
  • The twins frequently punctuate their speech with the phrase "bau bau," which can mean a great many things in the Demon Dog language, depending on context and tone.
  • A YouTube user named ChewyCookies began tracking the number of "baus" in each stream. In the first five months of streaming, they counted Fuwawa with 82,775 baus and Mococo with 56,336 baus, for a total of 139,107 baus. Since they had streamed for 507 hours at this point, this amounts to a total of 274 baus per hour or 4.57 baus per minute, equivalent to more than one duo "bau bau" per minute.
  • According to a tracker called BAU BAU Count Sheet, Mococo said "bau" 108,301 times in her first year since debut, including Twitter spaces, voice packs and audio interviews. With her sister Fuwawa, the duo made 270,709 baus in their first year.
  • Mococo has the ability to tell if a person is good or bad based on how they smell.
  • Some FUWAMOCO fans are known to suffer from a condition called baubaubyou (bau bau syndrome), where seeing pink and blue things together makes them think of Fuwawa and Mococo.

  • The pair's role as a duo of guard dogs invites a comparison to Gere and Freke, Odin's guard dogs in Norse mythology. Along with their pet Pero, they are also compared to Cerberus, the three-headed dog who guards the gates of Hell in Greek myth.
  • Mococo and Fuwawa are the first two VTubers in hololive to share a single channel across all of their social media accounts.

  • Mococo is known for "Mococo thoughts," a meme where a cropped screenshot depicts her with the last line of the chatbox above her head, with the implication that these are her thoughts.
  • Mococo speaks with some unique traits. She ends some o-vowel words with an additional schwa vowel, a trait known as vowel epenthesis.   • Mococo sneezes on average more than once every two streams. Fuwawa sneezes too, but less often. On average, Mococo sneezes 7 times more than Fuwawa. Clippers make compilations of Mococo sneezes.
  • On FUWAMOCO Morning episode 42, Mococo celebrated her 100th sneeze.
  • According to Sneeze Count and Miscellaneous tracker, Mococo sneezed 311 times in her first year of streaming since debut. Mococo sneezes in two thirds of streams on the channel, compared to Fuwawa who sneezes in only 9% of streams.
  • Mococo reached her 500th on-stream sneeze on 29 January 2025.
  • Once, Mococo put up a poll asking "Superchat when?" This was meant to ask when the next Superchat reading should occur, but Fuwawa joked that she meant to demand Superchats. As a joke, fans started spamming Superchats, resulting in $1,974.92 for the stream. When the misunderstanding was clarified in the subsequent FUWAMOCO Morning stream, fans did the same again, resulting in another $1,967.99 in Superchats.
  • Fuwawa and Mococo have worn blue and pink, respectively, since they were little, so that people can more easily tell them apart. They looked even more alike when they were little, and also wore name tags so people could tell which was which.
  • On Mococo's 2024 New Years outfit, her skirt is decorated with a brooch of the ᛝ symbol, an Anglo-Saxon rune pronounced "ing". It represents Yngvi, an alias of fertility deity Freyr, and is taken as a symbol of fertility. Fuwawa's matching outfit has the same symbol on her top and on her skirt. Nanashi Mumei's April 2023 casual outfit has a necklace featuring a different form of the same fertility rune.
  • FUWAMOCO are associated with a meme called "foreigner manipulation," which use distorted images of the duo's faces. In February 2024, a Japanese user on 5ch posted a distorted image of Kazama Iroha, translated as saying "Foreigners like to manipulate and post images like this." It became popular in memes and FUWAMOCO clip thumbnails. It was later referenced in the April Fools video Another Rebellion.
  • The duo like to form ad-hoc collab group names. They are particularly fond of the name FUWAMOCALLI (FUWAMOCO + Mori Calliope), since it contains "Mocalli," nickname of idol group Moso Calibration, who formed at DearStage in 2013 and disbanded in 2019. Indy VTuber Mint Fantôme is also a DearStage fan. Mocalli choreographer Mayuka later provided choreography for FUWAMOCO's 3D debut.
  • As revealed in her 3D debut, Mococo wears pink and white striped panties, a style known as shimapan which are popular in otaku culture. However, the ones visible in the 3D debut are "shima-shima shorts" to protect her modesty. They aren't panties, so it's not embarassing.
  • The wrestling segment in her 3D debut was supervised by Japanese wrestling company DDT Pro-Wrestling. FUWAMOCO had no wrestling experience, but wanted to do something unique which had never been done before in hololive. During one practice, Fuwawa accidentally punched Mococo in the face. Cover's 3D team does not want to do any more wrestling events. Dance choreography for the event was provided by Sakakibara Yui, Sawaguchi Kanami, and Mayuka.

The rambunctious Mococo spent all her time imprisoned watching anime and playing games, often roping her older twin sister Fuwawa and their pet Pero in for more chaotic antics. 2024

On 1 January, hololive's Twitter account announced -Advent- second costumes reveal streams would be rescheduled due to the.

On 5 January, Mococo debuted her new year costume. She has a new hairstyle using short twintails decorated with various flower ornaments. Mococo wears a white and pink kimono, the pink side has a flower pattern and white fluffy edge that covers the white side. Her is black with a pink belt over it, decorated with a big ribbon in the same colors and a thin silver chain underneat. The back of the kimono is longer than the front. Mococo uses black and pink paw shaped shoes, and optionally gloves.

On 8 January, FUWAMOCO reached 700,000 subscribers on their YouTube channel.

On 25 February, FUWAMOCO announced during a karaoke stream that they were moving to Japan. They subsequently took a hiatus from streaming until 10 March at 11am Japan time.

On 11 April, FUWAMOCO reached 800,000 subscribers on their YouTube channel.

On 29 May, hololive's Twitter announced that -Advent- would get their 3D models during summer. It was later announced that FUWAMOCO's 3D debut stream would take place on 10 August.

On 29 July, they reached 900,000 subscribers on their YouTube channel during a stream of the game Ark: Survival Evolved.

On 31 August, as part of the ENigmatic Recollection project, hololive English members debuted a new accessory for their main 2D costumes. They wear the white and blue cloaks first seen in the project's introduction video and related concept art. The cloak includes a blue gem containing a symbol that represents their affiliated guilds.

On 12 October, FUWAMOCO reached 1,000,000 subscribers on their YouTube channel during an endurance karaoke stream. This makes them the first members of Advent, and the 45th hololive member channel to reach the milestone.

On 25 October, FUWAMOCO announced that the FUWAMOCO Morning show would go on a hiatus after 1 November 2024, returning on 10 March 2025.

On 20 December, FUWAMOCO and other members debuted their 3D Santa costumes. The costume has two versions, white and red.

2025

On 15 January, Mococo debuted her third 2D costume. Mococo has two hairstyles, a bit shorter hair with straight bangs and braids to the sides with the tips resembling short twintails, and short-low braided twintails with white, fluffy scrunchies. Mococo wears a white top with pink, frilled collar and straps, the top has a print that reads "MOGOGO" with a bat wing above and a star below it. She has a demin-like blue skirt with a white fluffy edge, complemented with blue ribbons and various white assets. Mococo uses asymmetrical, white socks, the larger one has a pink edge with a small, pink heart and ribbon, the other is striped in pink. Mococo uses light blue shoes with pink heels. Mococo can also wear a pink jacket with decorative white ribbons and white frame glasses.

On 27 February, during an Advent's friendship test collab featuring their casual costumes, each member had a hairstyle swap. Mococo has Shiori's main hairstyle.

On 8 March, she debuted her hololive 6th fes. Color Rise Harmony 3D idol costume during the event's day 1 STAGE 1. The costume has some variants, it can be black or white, complemented with a color representative of the talent. The midriff can be covered or not. One has variant has a skirt while the other uses pants, with one leg exposed. Aside for the design featured in promotional material, the costume also includes a short jacket.

On 18 March, FUWAMOCO announced a temporary hiatus. The following FUWAMOCO Morning stream was scheduled for 30 March.

On 18 April, Mococo anounced a new update for her 3D model.

From 26 May, FUWAMOCO Morning temporarily moved to once per week, rather than its usual schedule of every Friday, Wednesday, and Monday. Episode #161 aired on Wednesday 28 May, followed by Mondays only from 2 June. FUWAMOCO were also absent on 28 July, when episode #167 was run by guest hosts Cecilia Immergreen and Gigi Murin.

On 4 August, -Advent- announced a project to celebrated their second anniversary, including "The Story of Advent", a five chapter series corresponding to five original songs about the journey of them, a holo no graffity episode, and a 3D live "On the Run!" on 29 August. A prologue video and their third original song "Genesis" were released on the same day.

On 29 August, during their second anniversary live "On the Run!", -Advent- debuted their 3D swimsuits first introduced in the hololive Summer 2023 event. The 2023 swimsuits are inspired in a sailor uniform. Members wear a two layered swimsuit, the first layer is blue from the straps going down diagonally to the center where each member has a mostly blue bow but one of the sides and the brooch are in one color representative of each member. The rest of the top is white. The edge has a semi circular cut. The lower piece of the first layer has two variants, one is a two layered blue skirt decorated with a white belt, a golden chain with some decorations hanging from it and a bow to the left and planks to the right. The second version is mostly the same but they wear blue shorts instead of a mini skirt. The second layer of the outfit is a matching striped bikini in white and another color depending on the member.

On 20 October, FUWAMOCO announced that FUWAMOCO Morning would once again go on hiatus, returning on Monday, 9 March, 2026. The last episode before hibernation was episode #178 on 27 October.

Name
  • Mococo is from Japanese onomatopoeia "mokomoko", meaning "fuzzy" or "fluffy." It matches her title as The Fuzzy One.
  • Abyssgard is a compound word of "abyss," meaning a bottomless pit, used as a metaphor for Hell in Dante's Inferno; and "gard," meaning either a guard, or an enclosed area of land, as in Midgard of Norse myth.
  • Abyssgard is pronounced "AB-iss-gard." This is different to the normal pronunciation of the English word "abyss," which puts the emphasis on the second syllable.
  • She writes her name in western name order. In Japanese, she writes it in katakana, commonly used for foreign words.
  • Her sister Fuwawa usually addresses her as "Moco-chan," even in English.
  • Fans began to call Mococo by increasingly strange and abstract nicknames. However, she asks not to be referred to this way, as her name is very important to her.
  • Her approved nicknames are Moco-chan, Mogojyan, and Mogogo.

  • Perform at live events: perform on stage, have a FUWAMOCO solo concert, have a concert in North America with hololive EN, perform at a certain summer idol festival in Odaiba, perform at Animelo Summer Live, appear on TV as a segment announcer, appear in a video game, voice a character in a video game, appear in a manga, be part of hololive Super Expo, appear in a commercial, become a tourism ambassador, participate in a collab cafe, do on-location video shooting, collab with Japanese comedians, and have a hololive concert at Yokohama Arena.

Pero
  • Pero is the twins' mascot character, pet, and mentor. They first met in the demon world because FUWAMOCO wasn't taking their training seriously. He was also trapped in the Cell with FUWAMOCO.
  • His full name is Perroccino. He refers to himself as The Great Perroccino.
  • Pero has only two bones. The rest of his body is pure muscle.
  • He refers to Ruffians as "Rufferans."
  • FUWAMOCO often express dislike of Pero, calling him "nasty."
  • Pero often appears in FUWAMOCO Morning, in a segment called Pero Sighting. He has appeared all over the world, including in Ruffians' homes and workplaces, the Philippines, the famous Hanazono Room pool, the Backrooms, frozen in a swimming pool, tied to railway tracks, and in the Windows XP wallpaper.
  • He occasionally makes guest appearances in streams. In one instance, he turned off FUWAMOCO's alarm clocks so they would oversleep, allowing him to take over FUWAMOCO Morning #11. He also managed to take over FUWAMOCO Morning #53.
  • "Perro" is the Spanish word for "dog." "Cino" is a prefix referring to dogs, and a masculine word suffix appearing in Italian. "Peropero" is Japanese onomatopoeia for the sound of licking, such as a pet might do.
  • His birthday is 8 August. A Pero birthday celebration stream was held in 8 August 2024.
  • As a joke, Ruffians once claimed to like Pero more than FUWAMOCO. They ended the stream in protest.
  • An official Pero plushie was released in August 2024. Mococo suggests that it is life-size, being approximately 25 cm tall.
  • His favorite food is pudding.
  • Pero's eyes can turn blue and pink, respectively, when he's angry. He can also be stretched out like mochi.
