Personality

Fubuki is usually always cheerful and excited, singing little songs and making many in-jokes. She is shy when confronted with new circumstances, and when embarrassed she "hides" at the bottom of the screen with only her fox ears peeking up. She becomes enthralled in games and has cute conversations with scripted game characters, or voice acts as characters while making effects.

However, she has a cunning, ruthless and twisted side to her, shown most often when playing "Project Winter" with other VTubers. She has described herself as a 'hunter' and has displayed both extreme skill, to the point of nearly winning a 1 v 4 battle all on her own, as well as a methodical thought process.

For example, during a "Project Winter" stream, Fubuki collaborated with fellow in-game traitors to purposely line up her shots at a wolf with Matsuri in an attempt to kill her early and make it look like an accident. And when playing Undertale, she started the G-route first and was rather sarcastic/apathetic towards Flowey begging for his life, something most players usually feel bad about the G-route. She also stole "Human" meat in Minecraft and crafted them into "Friend" meat with a wide smile on her face.

Fubuki is one to fearlessly march to the beat of her own drum, sometimes to a career risking degree. For example, she has once said that if hololive forced her to say something she didn't want to on stream, she would rather quit her job. And in another instance, she decided to call Roberu on his stream without care, which is a huge risk to any idol, real or virtual, due to followers potentially attacking her for "tainting her purity" by talking to a boy (among other "noble fan" nonsense).

She greets her viewers with "Kon Kon Kitsune!," which official subs seem to interpret as "Foxy day to you!"

Appearance

She has medium length white hair slightly past her shoulders with fox ears with small black tufts within and an ahoge. Her eyes are a light blue and she wears a seifuku like white uniform and white arm sleeves with blue ribbons.

Background

Her Twitter account was opened on 19 May 2018 while her YouTube channel was created on 23 May, although she did not start her activity on YouTube until a live-stream on 1 June.

Mascots and fans

  • Her fanbase is officially called "Sukon-bu" 「すこん部」(Sucorn). They also serve as her mascot and are represented by small white foxes with blue markings in their faces and a corn like colored tail. Sukon-bu has two variants one represents Japanese fans that wear a light blue scarf, while the overseas fans version known as "Friend" (as Fubuki refuses to be considered the wife or "waifu" of her viewers, so they use "friend" instead) wears a dark blue bow.
  • Some of her mascots:
  • Fubuki's first mascot is called "Oruyanke"「おるやんけ」. Oruyanke looks like a bamboo shoot with ears and tail like Fubuki's and small legs.
  • Fubuchun, one of the GAMERS birds.
  • Miteiru, who's always staring at you.
  • Fubura (or Fubuzilla), who appears in hologra.
  • Her fanmark 🌽 (a corn) is inspired by "kon kon", the sound of foxes when they bark, it sounds like "corn" in English.

Relationships

  • Notable units and groups Fubuki is part of:
  • "Dorobo Kensetsu" (泥棒建設), alongside Nekomata Okayu, Inugami Korone, Takane Lui, Ookami Mio, and La+ Darknesss.
  • "Kamichamarose" (かみちゃまろーぜ), alongside Akai Haato and Aki Rosenthal.

Retired member Murasaki Shion and still affiliate Sakamata Chloe were also part of this team. holoWitches has its own manga and Twitter account. They released their first single Hajimari no Mahou -charm- on 30 May 2024.
  • On 9 April 2025, holoWitches' Twitter account presented Fubuki and Lamy as new characters.
  • On 11 May 2025, Lamy and Fubuki were introduced to the manga as new members during episode 5, later on 16 May they and the original remaining members did a collab stream in Fubuki's channel revealing a new key visual, merch and a cover of Moonlight Densetsu.

Miscellaneous

  • Fubuki pays close attention to her kouhai's streams. She often watches hololive streams as a way to relax.
  • Fubuki is a workaholic, and almost never takes breaks. In 2020, she took a one-week holiday at management's insistence, her first holiday since her debut.
  • She is not good with the English language. Her introductory video had the English version of her name misspelled as "Fhunbuki."
  • Just like her fellow hololive VTuber Hoshimachi Suisei, Fubuki has shown a fond liking towards shotas. This has culminated in her writing multiple poems about watching shotas in the rain, watching shotas at the pool, and watching shotas at the ice cream shop, all on Mio's competitive Haiku stream, much to Suisei's chagrin.
  • She is the fourteenth hololive member to join the official Hololive Subreddit as a moderator.
  • Fubuki introduced many non-Japanese viewers to hololive, including Takanashi Kiara. Kiara once sang Fubuki's song on stream, Fubuki promised to return the favor by performing Kiara's song once she reaches 1 million subscribers.
  • Fubuki shares the same designer with Lee Siu from Nijisanji KR, Shirahari Uni from NeoRad, Lapis Ryoken, Kannagi Kurama, Tsumugi Nen from Pictoria, Aomiya Yozuri from VEE and Kamiyori Shihai from FIRST STAGE PRODUCTION.
  • Fubuki played Pokémon Brilliant Diamond with a challenge of catching only shiny Pokémon, which in that game has a random chance of 1/4096 per encounter. The most notable part of this run was her attempt to catch a shiny Magikarp, a feat which took 119 hours and 25 minutes over 27 days of streaming, plus an estimated 100 hours off-stream. Fubuki encountered a total of 6,698 Magikarps on-screen, with an estimated total of 11,500 to 13,500 Magikarps.
  • She developed the catchphrase "akai na~," meaning "it's red~," which she said when encountering a normal non-golden Magikarp. Viewers of her Magikarp catching quest were called Shiny Friends.
  • Fubuki would later accidentally catch a second shiny Magikarp when fishing for a shiny Feebas. She evolved it into a red Gyarados. Both the shiny Gyarados and the original shiny Magikarp appeared in her final team.
  • Fubuki was rejected several times for the Twitter verified blue check, despite having over one million YouTube followers. She finally received it on 24 December 2021, the same day she caught her shiny Magikarp. Fubuki credited Santa for bringing both gifts.
  • In March 2023, Fubuki lost her blue check after Twitter discontinued legacy blue checks for notable celebrity accounts.
  • On 30 December 2024, Fubuki held a stream where she rolled eight dice until they all came up the same number. Such a feat has odds of 1 in 279,936 per roll, with an approximate cumulative odds of 50% after about 108 hours at two seconds per roll. She actually succeeded by rolling eight fives at the 6 hour 50 minute mark, approximately 12,000 rolls, a feat with odds of only 4.2%.
  • Fubuki is a big fan of Kamen Rider. During one of her streams, she recommended Den-O, W, OOO, Kabuto, Fourze, Amazons, and Ex-Aid to her viewers.
  • In addition, she has lent her voice to the Geats Chemy for Kamen Rider The Winter Movie: Gotchard & Geats Strongest Chemy★Great Gotcha Operation, which came out at the end of 2023
  • Fubuki played Final Fantasy XIV on Japanese Datacenter, Her character name is KonKon Fox and she played as a Gunbreaker
  • She is a member on small FC exclusive for hololive member alongside with 3 other member, Subaru, Iroha and Ririka
  • There was an incident on Fubuki's self-made Minecraft server on the first day of her 2025 diamond mining project. A stranger account infiltrated the server while the talents were playing, Fubuki immediately contacted her manager and shut down the server. It seems that the reason is that Fubuki didn't turn on the whitelist - a setting that only allows certain accounts of her approved list to enter the server.
  • Fubuki's onee-san (elder sister) is Nekomata Okayu. (Even though it is self-imposed. Okayu is trying to make it official by hypnotizing Fubuki).

In-jokes and nicknames
  • The nickname "Scatman" comes from a video titled Im. Scatman, uploaded on 24 October 2019, which features her attempt to sing an a capella cover of Scatman John's 1994 pop hit Scatman (Ski-Ba-Bop-Ba-Dop-Bop). It was her most viewed video until her original song Say! Fanfare, and received numerous fan remixes, including Fubuki's own 3D remake.
  • Unfortunately, two versions have been removed from her channel. There is still a fan uploaded version of her "3D remake" and her first version of the cover on her Twitter account before uploading to the YouTube channel.
  • The nickname "hamburger" came from her use of the hamburger outfit in Fall Guys. Her nickname in that game is "Fox Burger King", which spells "FBK", an abbreviation for "Fubuki." Since then, she is usually depicted on her streams loading screens as a pixel sprite carefreely eating a burger while wearing a crown.
  • The English-speaking audience sometimes refer to Fubuki as Friend, and her fans as Friends. This relates to a video where an English-speaking user asked Fubuki to be their wife, to which she responded by saying she would instead be their friend.
  • A running joke is that Fubuki is constantly mistaken for a cat.
  • Corn sometimes appears in Fubuki's content. This a pun on "kon," the Japanese onomatopoeia for the sound made by a fox.
  • Fubuki and her fans occasionally express laughter with "茶葉 (chaba, tea leaf)", in a similar vein to the more common "草 (kusa, grass)." This comes from Fubuki's fondness for various kinds of tea.
